Save Time With This Strategy

Creating content can be so time-consuming for solo entrepreneurs.

Today I'm sharing how I save time in creating my content such as emails, podcasts, social posts, and blog posts.

Let's dive in.

Welcome back to the Spa Business Building Podcast. I'm Tiffany, your host. If we haven't met yet, I help solo beauty and wellness service providers attract clients, boost their bookings, and build a profitable business.

And in today's episode, I wanted to share a tip on how I keep all of my content creation straight, how I organize it and make my life less stressful. So I wanted to share this with you. And I do this by batching my content and repurposing content.

So that's what we're talking about today. If you are someone who is already doing this, that's awesome because I find that most service providers, like we just don't think to do this. And if you're already doing that, perfect.

If you're not, this episode is for you. So I have two businesses, essentially. I own a day spa, Renewed Spirit Day Spa.

I'm in Wisconsin. And I also have a business educating side of that business where I educate, like I said, solo beauty and wellness professionals on how to run their business. So this is a tip that I want to share with you because as service providers, as small business owners, a lot of times, we are running our businesses on our own.

We aren't able to hire out help, and we have to learn how to do all of the things ourselves. And that means that we're not only doing the services, we're receptionists, we're maintenance, we're housekeeping, we're bookkeeping, we're social media, all the things. And creating a system of a good business flow for like a well-oiled machine in your business is key for sustainability to help, you know, with burnout, to give you freedom in your life.

Because oftentimes we go into business for ourselves because we want to create that flexibility to be able to do whatever we want, spend time with our family, enjoy life, and not feel like we're hustling all the time to work. But then I find that typically that's what we're doing. We're hustling in our business because we have to do all the things, and it's so time-consuming.

So this is a great way to get back your time, your life, your energy, and still make money. Still do the things that you love. So I hope that you find this episode helpful.

So let's dive in. So we're talking about batching content and repurposing content. And what that means, when you're batching content, it means that you're setting aside time, scheduling off, blocking off your schedule, to create all of your content at once.

You have to break it up into separate batching sessions. Understandable, there's only so many hours in the day, but this is a way to create all your content at one time, and then schedule it to go out in advance, saving you so much time down the road. Now, repurposing content is using one topic and repurposing it all in different areas.

So you may have an email, a topic that you send out. So for example, for my spa business building, I have a Monday marketing tip, and every Monday I send my email list a marketing tip. I will take that email and turn it into a blog post that then goes out on Mondays, marketing Monday.

Each Monday is a new blog post. And then I create a reel based on that marketing tip, just 30, 60 second little snippet of information that I post as a reel. I will also turn it into a static image with just a caption or a carousel post.

So that is an email, a blog, a reel, a static image, and a carousel post. Those are five different, well, it's the same content that you've repurposed in five different ways. So you've stretched out your content creation into five different posts.

So that's how you repurpose. So for my spa, I have a TIFFS tip. It's a beauty and wellness tip of the week that I share in an email.

And then I will turn it into a reel and a post. So I've repurposed that in three different ways. So that really stretches out your content.

So every time you post, you don't feel like you have to create something new. You can take one topic and turn it into several different things. So this saves you so much time.

So batch creating your content and repurposing your content is really going to help you stay consistent. And as we know, consistency helps build trust and authority. Because when people can trust that you're gonna show up to nurture them as your audience, they're gonna want to start to schedule services with you because they trust you.

They trust your expertise. You become the expert. So start showcasing that and showing up.

And this is a really great way to stay consistent when you're able to plan your content and schedule it in advance and give yourself some extra time. So I like batching and repurposing because I can plan out my content. I know that I need so many reels in a month.

Let's just say I post one reel a week. Easy math. There's four weeks.

So I need four reels. And I know that I need four tips, tips. Four of those.

So I can sit down and create four emails. So the best way to plan is to look at your schedule. Kind of choose a topic, if that helps.

Like, what am I going to talk about this month? What is, or this week? What is the reoccurring theme that I can talk about?

Now, I like to kind of print out a schedule so I can lay it down and look at it. Or if you're, you know, using your computer, and you can kind of plug and play in the calendar that if you know how many reels you need in blog posts or whatever your content is, emails, then you can plan ahead for that topic. So when it comes to batching, I like to choose a designated day.

So for examples, Wednesdays are my admin days. When it comes to my spa business building, I will choose one Wednesday a month to knock out all of my podcasts that I need to go out for that next month. So I will record them, edit them, schedule them to go out.

If you need to go on vacation, you don't want to do any work. This is how you plan it and schedule it. You just never know when life's going to take over and your kids get sick and you get sick.

Something happens, and you can still show up online without showing up online, if that makes sense. So I like to schedule out a day. Today is my podcast recording day.

And next Wednesday, I'm going to knock out next month's emails, my marketing tip emails. The following Wednesday, I'm going to knock out all of my reels or graphics. That way, I can always stay ahead of it, so that when it comes around, then I'm a month ahead.

For me, ideally, four weeks, I like to push it to eight or 12. If I can try to get my quarter scheduled out, just think of the time that you're saving yourself, if you can schedule it that far in advance. So looking out and planning your promotions, I already know that Mother's Day is next month.

Right now, I'm recording, this is April. Mother's Day is weeks away. I've already put out my Mother's Day promotion to start talking about it.

I've sent out emails, I've created the graphics, I'm scheduling them to go out. I know that I have a waxing promotion coming up. So I'm scheduling that.

I'm creating all the graphics, all the reels, all ready to plan that to go ahead. My anniversary for my spa business is coming up in June. I'm planning that.

I'm creating the graphics, I'm creating the emails, and I'm scheduling them all to go out. And I'm sitting down and blocking off time to plan that, schedule that, create that. And that's how you batch create your content.

One thing that I like to do, I mean, you need a scheduling platform to schedule out all of your social media. Meta, it's free. That's what I use for my spa business.

I use Meta because I only have Facebook and Instagram. It posts to both. I don't love the reels portion of it, so you can't schedule your reels.

But what I do is I create them in advance, and I put them in my drafts. And then I have to put on my calendar to remind myself on Mondays to post that reel because it's in my drafts. So that's kind of how you can do that.

I use Later Social for Spa Business Building. It allows you to actually schedule your reels. Now, if you're using audio from Instagram or Facebook, then you cannot schedule that because obviously you can't download the audio.

But if you're using your own audio, you can schedule it on reels, and it's really nice. The only thing that you can't schedule is stories, and Meta allows you to schedule stories, although it's not great. So typically, I'll remind myself, I'll put a reminder on my calendar to put my stories up as well.

But you're planning it ahead. Mark it on your calendar. Schedule the time to do it so you don't fall behind, so you're not like, oh crap, I need to do this.

I need to post something. When you're batching and you're sitting down and scheduling that, you're staying consistent. You're able to focus, create a plan, because creating a plan is going to help you move forward, stay consistent, build authority, build trust.

And all of those things help you to attract clients and boost your bookings and build a system that makes you profit. Having a system, having a business with good systems and foundations to attract those clients is going to help you move forward in your business. I promise you this.

So I hope that you found this helpful. If you would like to continue this conversation, I do have a free Facebook community, Spa Business Building Community. It's a small community, but it is insightful and helpful.

And if you would like to join, I will post the link in the show notes, but please you can request to join. I'd be happy to have you there. You can also find me on Instagram and Facebook.

So mainly Instagram is where I show up on Spa Business Building. If you want to take a look at my Spa Business page, please do. I hope it gives you some helpful information on how I run my business and how I do things.

I will say I haven't been super consistent on my Spa Business social media pages. I've been focusing a lot on my Spa Business Building, and that's, I realized, I'm spending way too much time on just one business and not the other business. But I will say I'm so busy in my business that I'm not really attracting new clients, but I'm nurturing the clients that I have.

But you should never stop taking new clients. So most of my clients don't find me on social media. They are word of mouth, and I do have quite a few people still trying to get in to see me, not bragging at all, I'm just saying.

So if you would like to continue the conversation, as I said, Facebook, Instagram, I would love to have a chat. If you're interested in trying later social, they have a free 14-day trial. I love it.

So I'll post that below as well so you can give them a try. See how you like it for scheduling your content. I hope that you find it helpful and gives you some ease to take back your time in your business and start doing what you enjoy instead of just working all the time.

So that is it for today, my friend. I hope that you found this episode helpful. If you did, please leave me a review.

That's how others find me. If you have any questions or if you have a topic that you would like me to discuss, if you would like to come on this podcast and share your story, ask questions on the podcast, I'd love to have you. I will post that form to be on the podcast below.

But please leave me a room review and share this with your fellow beauty and wellness besties. Until next time, friend, stay fabulous, stay inspired, and happy business building.
