Elevate Your Business as a Value Brand
It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking discounts are the only way to attract new clients. I made that mistake early on. I offered a 60-minute massage for $30, half my usual rate, through a deal site. It was a disaster.
That experience taught me: deep discounts devalue your services. I attracted clients who only cared about the price, not the quality. I worked twice as hard for half the income, and most of those clients didn't return.
Instead, focus on attracting your ideal clients—those who value your expertise and are willing to pay your prices. After eight years, I have a loyal clientele who appreciate my work and happily pay my rates.
Here's how you can build a similar client base without resorting to deep discounts:
Share Valuable Content: Position yourself as an expert by providing helpful tips, tutorials, and guides relevant to your ideal client's needs.
Host Events: Organize open houses or workshops to showcase your skills and connect with potential clients. Offer compelling promotions, like a "buy 3, get a $25 voucher" deal, to encourage repeat business.
Engage in Your Community: Participate in local events, fundraisers, and volunteer opportunities to increase visibility and build relationships with potential clients.
Network with Local Businesses: Partner with complementary businesses like salons, gyms, or chiropractors for cross-promotions and referrals. Small business owners understand the value of referrals and are often eager to collaborate. Join your local Chamber of Commerce.
Remember, consistency is crucial. These strategies take time, but they build a sustainable client base that values your services.
