Which Advanced Exfoliation Treatment is Right for Me?

Cooler weather is close upon us and you know what that means.....it's advanced exfoliation season.

Receiving advanced exfoliation is better in the colder months because it is best to limit sun exposure when receiving these treatments.

Renewed Spirit Day Spa offers three options for advanced exfoliation: Corrective Peels, Hydrodermabrasion, and Dermaplaning.

They all exfoliate the skin, but which is the best form of exfoliation for you?

Corrective Peels exfoliate by using one of four types of peels; Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, or TCA peel. Your individual skin concerns will determine which peel is appropriate for your treatment. Corrective Peels can help improve texture, clear acne, and diminish hyperpigmentation.

Hydrodermabrasion is a form of exfoliation that uses a diamond tip and peeling serums to smooth, soften, plump, hydrate, nourish, refine pores, and decrease sunspots and pigmentation. It also helps promote the production of collagen and elasticity.

Dermaplaning is an exfoliating treatment that smooths and brightens the complexion. It removes the vellus (baby fine) hair and allows for better product penetration which makes this treatment perfect for when pairing with a Renewed Spirit facials or corrective peels. Makeup will also go on more smoothly, which is why we suggest receiving a dermaplaning treatment before a big event.

For best results, professional at-home skincare products should be used consistently two weeks prior to your advanced exfoliation treatment. A professional consultation/facial should be your first step to determine the proper exfoliating treatment and the best at-home products. Often times, a series of advanced exfoliation treatment is needed for optimal results and may also need to be paired with a facial or a series of other advanced exfoliation treatments.
